The Polytechnic School of Cuenca is a teaching, scientific, technological and cultural center of the University of Castilla-La Mancha whose general objective is to serve as an instrument and catalyst of all scientific and technological activities in the fields of Building and Telecomms.. All foreign students interested in making an international mobility stay at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) must complete the previous formalities for entrance as shown in the procedure.

In this School you can study the studies leading to the university degrees of:

  • Bachelor's degree in building engn..
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecm. technology engn..
  • Master's degree in Telecm. Engn..
  • Erasmus practices in research institutes or companies-industries.

The bachelor’s Degree titles add up to 240 European credits distributed in 4 academic courses.
The master´s degree titles add up to 72 European credits distributed in 3 academic semester (XXXX credits per course).

An ECTS credit is defined as the unit of work measurement of the student, estimated between 25 and 30 hours (25 hours in the UCLM). Each academic course consists of 60 ECTS, equivalent to a full-time job of the student. This system of credits favors that the real duration of the studies approaches the one that marks the curriculum. Each academic course is divided into two semesters of 30 credits for each semester.

The academic courses are divided into the following periods:

FIRST SEMESTER

Period of elective classes: the second week of September until the third week of December.
  • Christmas vacation: the fourth week of December until the first week of January.
  • Exam period for the subjects of the first semester: the second week of January until the end of the same month.

SECOND SEMESTER

  • Period of elective classes: the first week of February until the third week of May.
  • Holy Week vacation: 8 days of vacation (the dates vary each year, usually in the month of March or April).
  • Exam period for the subjects of the second semester: the third week of May until the first week of June.

Teaching language at the Polytc. School of Cuenca (Bachelor and Master) is Spanish, if you are not fluent in Spanish, please contact your academic coordinator for more information regarding this matter. However, we have a catalog of subjects in English friendly.

In light of recent issues, we’d also like to point out that we do not require language certificates from our future incomings, but we do expect you to be able to follow lectures and administrative procedures. In your interest, please make sure you have a B1 level of Spanish or at least you are fluent in English in order to help you get started in Cuenca.
