ODY AND BRAIN DONATION PROGRAM FOR EDUCATIONAL AND RESEARCH PURPOSES

Body donation for research and teaching purposes is a voluntary, altruistic gesture vital to train physicians and other health care professionals. Not only it helps our students acquire a comprehensive understanding of the human body, but it also helps the advancement of medical and surgical innovation.

PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

Personal data obtained through the UCLM program of body donation for educational and research purposes will be treated in line with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, which repeals the Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation); the Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December, on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights; and the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Personal Data of the University of Castilla-La Mancha ( www.uclm.es/ psi ). It also adopts the technical and organizational measures necessary to ensure the security of the personal data processed.

Treatment of personal data obtained through the body donation program at the UCLM requires written informed consent from the individual concerned, which will have to be provided through explicit affirmative action.

The purpose and legal framework for personal data treatment at the UCLM body donation program can be accessed at   treatment “Body donation for research”  at the registry of treatment activities ( RAT ) of the UCLM. This link contains also information on how long personal data are retained, and whether any communications of such data have been planned. 

Individuals concerned have the right to access and request the rectification, suppression, and limitation of the treatment and the portability of their personal data; oppose their treatment and, where necessary, refuse to be the object of decisions based solely on the automatic treatment of their personal data. Requests must be addressed in writing to the UCLM Data Protection Delegate—including proof of identity (copy of identity card or equivalent)—at the following address: Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, Plaza de la Universidad nº 2, 02071 Albacete; or the e-mail address     proteccion.datos@uclm.es .
