04/10/2019

Prof. Emilio Gómez Lázaro participates in a new meeting of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Task 25, in Bucharest (Romania). This group analyses and develops different methodologies to evaluate the impact of variable generation systems on current electricity systems. The group is composed by members from 17 different countries, being Prof. Emilio Gómez the only Spanish representative.

On another note, The International Energy Agency Wind Technology Collaboration Programme (IEA Wind TCP) is an international co-operation that shares information and research activities to advance wind energy research, development and deployment in member countries. Formerly known as the Implementing Agreement for Co-operation in the Research, Development, and Deployment of Wind Energy Systems, the consortium operates under the auspices of the IEA.

From University of Castilla-La Mancha, Professor Emilio Gómez Lázaro presented the changes in the operation of wind energy in the Spanish electricity system over the last few years, and the benefits obtained in terms of flexibility and the reduction of curtailments.
